The resource centre
The purpose of the resource centre of the Villèle museum is to make available to the general public and the staff of the museum a collection of works around the important topics linked to the site, its history and the museum’s collections.
Consisting of over 3,000 works, the collection is added to each year thanks to new acquisitions on the subjects of slavery, the plantation society, Africa, India, China, the arts, history and local research.
Around 20 journals, including Les Cahiers des anneaux de la mémoire, Revue historique de l’océan Indien and Patrimoine industriel, also enable users to keep in touch with current events.
