Pierrot fâché avec la lune
Presented by "Les concerts en balade
Sunday 5 November 2023 - 3.30pm - chapelle pointue - free admission
These are Debussy's words as a prologue to his sonata for cello and piano. Inspired by the burlesque of the Commedia del' Arte, this sonata is tinged with sarcastic humour and melancholy poetry. It conjures up images of Spain, with habanera rhythms and the colours of night-time perfumes.
For this piano and cello duo concert, "Les concerts en balade" invites you to explore Debussy's many inspirations, with this sonata as a common thread. You'll also hear works by Maurice Ravel and his Hispanic influences, as well as Gabriel Fauré and Erik Satie, both of whom inspired Debussy.
A musical journey of many colours!
With Eléonore Guillaume on piano and Christophe Boney on cello
Duration: 1 hour
