Temporary exhibition: "Archaeocapsule" The archaeology of colonial slavery.  An exhibition set up by the INRAP (French National Institute for archaeological research), in partnership with the DAC (Cultural department) of Reunion.

The slave hospital, kitchen and the "Chapelle Pointue" chapel.

Guided tours

The ground floor of the main house, [guided tours in Creole, French or English]

Botanical tours: Discovery of the species growing on the Villèle estate with Patrick Coukan, [Saturday and Sunday at 10 am, 11.30 am, 2.00 pm and 4.00 pm] 

Guided tour of the former Desbassayns sugar factory, by the historian Xavier Le Terrier [Saturday and Sunday at 10.30 am and 2.30 pm]

Screening

 “The Chapelle Pointue, history of a renaissance”.  Screening of a film created by IMAGO (Jacques Ledoux, director and Thierry Hoareau, photographer) on the restoration of the ‘Chapelle Pointue’ (chapel) in 2002-2003 [Saturday and Sunday at 10.30 am and 2.00 pm]

Workshops

Recreational archaeology: digging trays, archaeological models and cartoons created by the INRAP (French national institute for archaeological research), activities for 7 to 10-year-olds, under the supervision of archaeologists from the Reunion Department of Culture. [Saturday and Sunday at 10 am, 11 am, 1 pm, 2 pm, 3 pm and 4 pm, by reservation only on 0262 55 64 10 with Emmanuelle or Emmeline: bookings open from now!]

"Kossa in shoze’" (What is it?) and ‘Jeux lontan’ (traditional games): quiz workshops in Creole and traditional games under the supervision of museum facilitators [Sunday only]
