Take part! / the sponsorship

In a few words

Sponsorship consists in a donation (of money, objects or skills) made by a company or an individual to support a structure of general interest to the public. The word ‘sponsor’ is a very specific legal term based on the notion of general interest for the public and the principle of absence of direct equivalent return. The incentive measures coming under the ‘Loi Aillagon’ a law passed on 1st August 2003, has made an important contribution to the development of sponsorship in France and its frequent application by companies.

The websites of the French Ministry of Culture and Admical provide support regarding this measure.

Giving concrete form to your commitment!

Opened by the Departmental Council of Reunion in 1974, the Villèle museum is an establishment of interest to the general public, at the centre of local life and the territory of Reunion.  Granted the label of ‘Museum of France’ in 2002, it focuses on actions around education, conservation, study and restitution to the public of the material and immaterial heritage coming under its responsibility as a historical site.

Supporting the museum’s important projects (exhibitions, events, publications etc.) can be a means for a company to consolidate its local role, while giving extra meaning to its activity on a daily basis. Contributing to the general interest through cultural projects, the sponsoring company benefits from personalising and enriching its image, transmitting positive values that can federate its collaborators and partners.

The advantages

Taxes

Article 238 bis of the French general tax code grants tax relief to the amount of 66% of the amount of the donation for individuals and 60% for companies paying income tax or company tax, up to a threshold of 0.5% of the turnover before tax.

Communication

The logo or name of the sponsoring company figures on all the communication supports produced by the museum for the supported project concerned (signs, invitation cards, exhibition catalogue etc.). The sponsor and his involvement in the project are presented and enhanced on the dedicated page of the museum website.
